Bro. Cody Stephens, Pastor

“Haven’t I seen you before,” is something I get asked a lot. In order to answer that question, I normally start by asking, “Well, where are you from, and I can answer your question?” In this case, I can’t do that. So, I’m going to tell you a little bit about myself.

Where most people may have seen me was at Wheeler High School. I graduated from Wheeler in 2013. During my time as a student, I was the manager for every sport Wheeler had. I kept the sports stat records, ran the sound system for various events, cleaned the gym, and traveled with the ball teams. I also drove a school bus for Wheeler and was a teacher assistant in the high school multi-handicap classroom.

That’s not all where you may have seen me. I entered into the pastoral ministry in 2016 as a licensed local pastor in the United Methodist Church. As a United Methodist Minister, I have served six churches: Harris Chapel, Ashland, and Liberty United Methodist Churches, all of Benton County Mississippi; and Mt. Nebo, Marietta, and Siloam United Methodist Churches, all of Prentiss County Mississippi. And now, I am the Pastor at Crossroads Church!

But, it doesn’t stop there. I am also a full-time employee at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville, Mississippi. There I am a Funeral Service Resident Trainee, where I serve the families we are care for as a Funeral Director Trainee and Embalmer Trainee. I am also a Licensed Life Insurance Agent in Mississippi, where I sell pre-arranged funeral at McMillan.

There is something a bit more personal I want you to know. The longing of my heart is see more and more people come to Jesus Christ as the Lord of their life. How do I do that? My calling from God is to bring excitement back into the churches. I feel it is my responsibility to equip the born again Christian with the Truth and Word of God, giving them what they need to do what God has called us to do which is “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew 28:19, NLT).

I met the love of my life, LeAnn Stephens, in January of 2019. I knew it from the very beginning that she is the one God had waiting for me. With a lot of nervousness in June of 2020, I asked her if she would marry me. On October 3, 2020, I got to marry my best friend! Together we will serve God as the leaders of Crossroads Church.

Come join us at Crossroads! I am excited to meet you!
